Metro 4's 10.5 km Gaimukh-Cadbury Junction stretch in Thane awaits final safety clearance. The 8 stations, the timeline, and what it means for Thane flats.

Ask anyone who lives off Ghodbunder Road what they'd change, and the answer is the commute. That's why Thane's first metro stretch matters more to its residents, and to its landlords, than most infrastructure headlines.
The first phase is the 10.5 km Gaimukh to Cadbury Junction section with eight stations, according to the Free Press Journal:
The full Metro 4 corridor is planned as 32.32 km from Wadala to Kasarvadavali, with the 2.88 km Metro 4A extension to Gaimukh (Swarajya).
The milestones reported so far:
In August, MMRDA expected to start operations around Diwali or by the end of 2026, depending on approvals. I wouldn't plan a move around a specific date until the CMRS clearance is announced.
Thane has already seen strong price growth. ANAROCK data reported by Storyboard18 in July 2025 put average prices at Rs 19,800 per sq ft in Q2 2025, up 46% from Rs 13,550 three years earlier, with Majiwada-Balkum, Kolshet Road and Kasarvadavali among the top supply areas.
My take: much of the metro story is already in prices. What a working metro changes faster is rent and letting speed. A flat within walking distance of Kapurbawdi, Majiwada or Vijay Garden becomes easier to let to people working in central Thane, and later along the Wadala line.
A metro line changes the rent first and the price later. Walking distance to the station is the number that matters.
Compare flats near a station with similar flats 15 minutes away. If the price gap is large, you are already paying for the metro. Our valuation desk can help you check.
Ask the owner for the exact walking route to the station, not "near metro".

Cadbury Junction, Majiwada, Kapurbawdi, Tikuji-ni-Wadi, Dongripada, Vijay Garden, Kasarvadavali and Gaimukh, covering 10.5 km.
MMRDA said in August 2026 it expected to start around Diwali or by the end of 2026, subject to final CMRS safety clearance.
