The Bandra-Versova Sea Link, with connectors at Carter Road and Juhu Koliwada, has a May 2028 deadline. Progress so far and how to weigh it in a home decision.

The Western Express Highway is the main north-south road for Mumbai's western suburbs, and it's congested for much of the day. The Bandra-Versova Sea Link (BVSL), built by MSRDC, is designed to give the coastal suburbs a faster route that stays off the highway.
| Element | Reported length |
|---|---|
| Main sea link bridge | 9.60 km, 4+4 lanes |
| Bandra connector | 1.17 km |
| Carter Road connector | 1.80 km |
| Juhu Koliwada connector | 2.80 km |
| Versova connector | 1.80 km |
At that pace, treat 2028 as a target, not a certainty.
If you need a short commute from Juhu or Versova today, the sea link won't help you until it opens. Choose on today's roads.
Corporate tenants in Juhu and Versova often work in BKC or Lower Parel. A faster coastal route could widen your tenant pool when it opens. Until then, set rent on today's commute.
The deadline was extended to May 2028. A report in April 2026 put progress at about 32%.
Reported connectors are at Bandra, Carter Road, Juhu Koliwada and Versova.
